  家というのは、大きくわけて木造（在来・2x4）、RC構造、鉄骨構造といった種類があります。
  とりわけ多いのは、木造建築。
  木造は軸組を構造体にしていますので、必ず455mmと910mmに柱や間柱がはいります。
  
  設計事務所らしい、建築と一緒に提案できるソファを作りたいな、と思って、その構造にアジャストできる金物を作り、その上にスノコとクッションを置き、建築の壁そのものを背面にしました。
  
  金物を用いてソファ全体を中空に浮かすことで、脚が邪魔にならなくて、座面の上に落ちたほこりやペットの毛、お菓子の食べかすなどもクッションを裏返してポンポンとすれば、床に落ちて掃除を簡単にすることができます。 象の鼻のような形の金物のデザインからELEPHANT SOFAという名前をつけました。

  Houses come in a variety of structural types, including wood, reinforced concrete, and steel structure.
  Wood structure is by far the most common.
  Wood structure uses a framework as the structural element, so pillars are always placed at 455mm and 910mm.
  
  I wanted to create a sofa that would be suitable for proposals together with the architecture, in a way that is characteristic of a design firm, so we created metal fittings that could be adjusted to the structure.
  
  Then, I placed a drainboard and cushions on top of it, making the wall part of the sofa.
  I named it the ELEPHANT SOFA after the design of the legs, which resemble an elephant's trunk.
